Straight Tuck End vs. Reverse Tuck End vs. Lock Bottom: Which Box Style Fits Your Product

“What box style do I need?” comes down to two things: how heavy your product is, and how polished you need the assembly to look. Here's how the three main styles actually differ.

Straight Tuck End

Our Straight Tuck End boxes have both flaps tucking in the same direction, giving a clean, seamless look with no exposed edge. It's a popular, polished choice for lightweight products — cosmetics, small gifts, travel-size items, and light electronics — where presentation matters and the box doesn't need to support much weight.

Reverse Tuck End

Our Reverse Tuck End boxes tuck the top and bottom flaps in opposite directions, leaving one edge exposed — which actually helps prevent the box from being accidentally opened from the wrong end. It's an economical option that suits the same lightweight products as Straight Tuck End (cosmetics, small gifts, travel-size perfumes, light electronics) when a slightly simpler build works fine.

Lock Bottom and Auto Lock Bottom

When a product has real weight to it, our 1-2-3 Lock Bottom box gives you interlocking bottom flaps that create a genuinely secure base — a common pick for creams, candles, sprays, and similar heavier items. Our Auto Lock Bottom box is the faster-assembly version of the same idea: a pre-glued base that locks into place as the box opens, shipped flat with no tape or folding required, built for retail products that need both strength and quick assembly at scale.

Quick decision

Lightweight product, want the cleanest look: Straight Tuck End. Lightweight product, economical option is fine: Reverse Tuck End. Heavier product that needs real support: Lock Bottom, or Auto Lock Bottom if you're assembling a lot of them quickly.
